  1. These presentations helped me understand the safeness in NYC's tap water. In many presentations there was numerous facts that showed the comparison between tap water and bottled water. Noticing all the facts tap water obviously comes on top. To facts that helped me understand the safeness of NYC's tap water was the fact about how many times the water is tested and also the fact that ⅓ of bottled water is actually tap water. Those two facts makes me realize that since its basically the same thing, why would I buy tap water in a bottle when it is tested like once rather than just getting free tap water that is tested hundreds of time a day. Not only did these projects' facts influence me but they also influenced my actions. When I learned that bottles take at least 400 years to biodegrade it made me realize that if I buy those bottles they will be polluting the earth even after I'm dead. It also made me see that it is not fair for other generations to be born into a place of filth. Noticing this I've decided to not buy bottled water and use reusable water bottles and also try get my peers to do the same. To take action when I see someone drinking bottled water know that they are paying for free water and are getting robbed. That is how the projects influenced me.

  2. During this project I learned the truth about bottled water. The whole time i believed that tap water was really dirty and only good for showering or cleaning anything. Growing up I always saw my mother drink from bottled water and thought that bottled water was cleaner and much better and it has a better taste. The truth about the bottled water is that, we only pay for the bottle not the water inside the bottle. As a matter of fact the water that is found in a bottle is the same water that can be found in your own house. At first i didn’t want to believe that bottled water is the same as tap water. Researching and seeing the data collected it was true that it is the same. I also learned that many bottle making industries use many techniques to seduce us into believing that bottled water is cleaner and that it is better than tap water. I can’t believe that people actually believed their lies like i did once upon a time. It is bad to buy bottled water because the bottles themselves carry chemicals, that soon interacts with the water and contaminates it. This is bad because this can lead to many people getting diseases. The companies also lie about what they do with used bottles. We may think that we recycle and we reuse the bottles but we actually do not. Many of these bottles are crushed into really small tiny pieces that ends up in the ocean. These little pieces of plastic ends up being eating by the animals in the ocean and the animals that eat from the ocean. Many birds and fishes die from the chemicals and from the plastic. For all we know the plastic inside their bodies can be cutting them and can also be a cause of death. Something that is also bad is that the sun breaks the little pieces of plastic into smaller pieces which pollutes the ocean even more. Whats the purpose of people recycling if nothing is actually being reused. I plan on making changes because I know for a fact that making more bottles is what is polluting our environment even more. Bottled water is clean but its the same as tap water the only difference is that you pay for bottled water, theres no need to pay for FREE tap water. You cannot litter tap water, its something that will always be clean because the water already comes filtered. Drinking tap water is much better than buying and drinking bottled water.

  3. The project help me understand how people view tap water vs bottled water. To give an example, I was trying to do the video in a friends house and his sister and mother agreed on bottle water because it’s healthier than drinking water that comes from there pipes. Learning what I know my friend and I argued with his sister and mother, us being on tap water side from l the facts we learn in class and them using little to no knowledge on bottle water. We did not get them to agree on our side but they gave it thought. This project has barely done a change because last year I started to stop buying plastic bottle since it kept breaking. I started to buy water bottles that are reuseable and refill my water bottle form water from my filter that my mom bought. I certainly have a better understanding of where my water comes from. Now I know that tap is not as bad as I thought it would be. Knowing the facts for tap water is something useful because it saves money knowing that I can stop buying something that I can get for free.
Something I found interesting about bottle companies is that they don’t have to show their report and most of the water is just pumped from local places and sold in the same place for a dollar or more. This comes to show how much we as the consumers can trust the bottle companies. If we don’t know the quality of the water in bottles how are we expected to drink it, relying on just told tales on advertising campaigns is not going to cut it. Things like the websites, and the visual aspects of the websites to persuade and misinform the reader to believe something that is not completely true. Relating to the water pumping and selling it back to them for profit, it can be misinterpreted as De Jafu. When United states was just a colony, the colony would gather resources for the mother country in order for the mother country to produce manufactured goods and sell it right back to the colonist in order to gain more profit. The water companies (mother country) is pumping water from the cities and towns (getting resources) and selling it back to the people with free water for more than it cost (getting profit by selling it back to the people that gave them the resource).
This project is different from the ones I have done in school because it had more freedom, I had a choice to pick on how to get my message across. On the other hand, it is similar, gathering facts from different sources to present an idea about a position and persuade people why your hypothesis or thing you're backing up is worth it.
The songs and skits were the most entertaining. They either consisted of an interesting beat, insane lyric, or plain out funny and amusing. Things that would speak out and get people’s attention, something that people will get hooked to. In this case it was the songs performed, or the skits performed.
Overall, this project can relate to my family because we drink tap water that is filter from our own filter and we same money. We may have not known all the benefits of tap water and all the cons to bottled water but my mom is economically smart so instead of buying bottled water a week she bought a filter that she needs to spend money on every 2 to 1 year cleaning. This connects to the community because if the community learns about where NYC’s water comes from then they might not be as judgmental about tap then they are now. It is all about the information provided to the public. To the rest of the world, some don’t have much water access so this doesn't pertain to them but people with water, must check out their water that comes from the sink of their homes and check if it’s clean enough to drink out of because they never know if they could be saving money. In conclusion, this project helped me have a different better perspective on NYC’s tap water. - Sucre Marmolejo 2 period

  4. How did this project help you understand the safety of our drinking water in NYC?
This has helped me understand that New york city’s tap water is among the best in the country. Also how water bottled corporations have been exploiting both the people and nature for profit, these companies are impacting the enviroment negatively.

Has this project influenced your personal actions?
Will you make any changes? Why/why not?
This project has made me change in the way I buy bottles, it also has made me drink more water than ever before. Now I am taking advantage of living in one of the cities with the finest water.Whenever I buy a bottle I recycle it and refill it with tap water afterwards.

Do you think you have a better understanding of where NYC's drinking water comes from
    Why or why not?
Now I have a much better understanding of where NYC’s water comes from.It goes through a water treatment plant and chlorine and flouride is added to improve its taste as well as to strenghten our teeth. The water then gets carried out throughout the city’s pipeline.

What are some things that you found surprising about the bottled water industry when completing this project?
Some things that surprised me about the bottled water industry is that although they’re actions have a huge impact on both society and the environment they still exploit their resources to make profit. They are the reason why thousands of water bottles end up in ocean gyres each year,as well as why aquatic life may cease to exist.

How does this project compare to others that you have completed in school?
What did you like about it? What could make it better? Would you be interested in doing something similar in the future?
This project is similar in the way that many students collaborated to to make an amazing song, presentation, etc. I liked how we all came together to work on these projects and i found it even more joyful when everyone got together to see their group’s finalized product.I really would love to do something similar to this in the future.

Which types of projects did you think were the most engaging when presented (prezi, glog, video, rap, etc)?
    Explain your response
Connect the project to your family, community, and the world.
The most engaging projects I found to have been raps and videos since they show alot of energy and also have themes of the project along with pop culture elements. Some projects added different elements from our culture and community and synthesised it with facts about water and issues going on in the world.

  5. This project in various ways influenced me more, that bottled water isn’t sustainable. Although we learned about the effects of bottled water to the environment before this project re-learning and looking into the facts again help me want to make a change. There isn’t a better way to do it then to be the change you wish to see in the world, I will discipline myself to not buy bottled water anymore. Some of the projects that I thought were the most engaging was the songs and skits. They either consisted of an interesting beat, insane lyric, or plain out funny and amusing. I thought it was the most entertaining because the songs were catchy and really got your attention. Especially making your own website, not only was it helpful for everyone but also for friends and family members outside the school who want to learn more about this particular issue. Something that really surprised me about bottled water industries was the fact that they hide their reports on whether if the water is healthy or has any problems, un like tap water where you can easily access the reports online.

  6. Comparing this project to other projects that I have completed in school this was the most interesting and excited because it involved things that we learned from the beginning of the year to now. We were able to be creative with our projects. I was able to apply my skills of recording and editing to contribute to my group’s project and other projects. If we had more time, probably the projects would’ve been done better by having more facts and being longer. For the next project I want to do something similar to this if is possible. The most engaging projects were the videos and raps for sure. The videos gave good reactions to students. My video for example, made everyone laugh and at the same time it persuaded people to drink tap water. Every rap that I saw was unique, including the one that I created with my group.

  7. This project help me understand that NYC tap water is safe by opening my eyes on what reality really is. Which is that tap water is not as dangerous as everyone else thinks, it has chlorine in which protects us from certain bacteria and does not cause diseases. This project has influenced my personal actions because it has changed the way I treat tap water, I started telling my family about the things I've learned and they thought I was joking. This made a change because now we will stop using water bottles and start using our tap water in reusable bottles.
Some things that surprised me from the bottle industry is the fact that a lot of their companies brainwash people making them think that bottled water is better because it doesn't give diseases, its fresh and pure water This in deed is not something expected its crazy what people would do in order to gain money. Something that also made me think about was the fact that both pepsi and coca cola in which are realy recognized companies broke their promise in using a higher percentage of recycled bottled water but instead the only used 25%. This is unfair for the people that were hoping for this to come true and it is also unfair to the companies' customers because they buy but would also want something that could help our world. This project was very different from others and i felt that was more engaging.

  8. Compared to other projects I have done in the year, so far the bottle water project was the most fun. I learned a lot of things that i didn't know about NYC tap water, such as NYC tap water is so clean that we don't need to filter it because New York City water is so clean already. Finding out things like that helped me understand better how NYC water works and why we should take advantage of the giant supply we always seem to have. Like how the DEP makes sure our drinking water meets standards by constantly checking it and how they take pride being called the champagne of all tap water. Knowing all these things were at first very overwhelming because I didn't know how i should incorporate them into my project but after while by seeing last years projects and with Mr Fox guidance I was able to put the facts and theme of the lessons without sacrificing the creativity of the video. I think are type of presentation were the most engaging such as doing commercials and songs based on things we already seen in our everyday life. So when you base the tap water songs or commercial people already know what to relate it too, so it become a little inside joke. Although one thing I like to change is the group’s rap video. I would have not want to rap, because i don't have bars like that so it was hard for me to find a way to do the song.

  9. This project made me think differently about tap water in every aspect. First of all, I didn't really care about the water I drank as long as I had it. My family always used to buy water in plastic bottles when we went out, until I found out about tap water and until I realized that plastic bottles only ruin the ecosystem. After going through the process of learning how the NYC's water system works, I was very impressed, our water is not only safe to drink, but it is one of the best in the world. I sat down with my aunt and explained to her every possible thing about tap water, she literally called her friends to tell them how tap water is better than plastic bottles. That made me proud because I feel like I'm helping our environment. I completed this project not because it was going to help my grade, but because I really had something to say about tap water, I believed that people can change our environment by just not buying plastic bottled water. This project helped me realize many things about my own personal life, I hope it changes people's thoughts about tap water because they are wrong when they say it's dirty. I really started making a few changes in the way I live and I"m slowing trying to figure out a way to change my family's view on the topic as well.

  10. This project helped me understand the safety of NYC's water in many different ways. I learned that our tap water is actually regulated a lot more than bottled water. Learning the defects of bottled water and the company which they're bottled allowed me to have a better understanding of how much more safer NYC's drinking water really is. I honestly don't think I'll be making any changed because I don't really find it to be such a huge deal. The reason why I don't have to change is because I don't buy water bottles or bottled water anyways. I always drink water at home from the sink or at school from the water fountain. My understanding of where NYC's drinking water comes from is a lot better. I did not know that bottled water is tap water and that some companies get it from the same place tap water does. The trip to the reservoir actually helped me understand where the water comes from a lot more. The most interesting thing I learned was all of the manufactured demand that companies use to get people to buy their bottles water. This project is much more hands on and we have more space to decide what it is we want to do. Other projects we have to follow too many rules and everybody is doing the same thing and following the same rules. For this project everybody's project had to be unique in their own way.I feel that if I would have put more time into the project it would have came out a lot better. The videos and raps were the most engaging in the presentations because those are the two that as kids we like to see or hear the most.

  11. This project has influenced my personal actions by not buying water bottles any more unless it is necessary and instead buying a reusable water bottle that I could refill with tap water and take anywhere for free. I would try my best to make changes within my family by making them drink tap water instead of bottled water because I want to save the planet and I want them to save money. Plastic bottles contaminate out world and hurt the environment because they are not recycled they are thrown into landfills. We need to make a difference because this would hurt the following generations. Some things that I found surprising about the bottled water industries when completing this project is that they lie in order to have customers and make a profit. They only think about themselves, they are selfish people. Also we are very naive and believe everything they say to us. 40% is tap water put into bottled waters, which we buy daily. If we stop buying bottled waters those industries would close down and end the production of plastic bottles because they wouldn’t be selling anything, there business would go down.
What I liked about this project was that we had many options to pick what we wanted to do in order to promote tap water. Also, what I liked was that we had whole class periods to work on the projects as a group and we had the laptops available. This made it easier in order for us to focus and complete the project faster while if we worked after school it would have taken us a longer time to complete for the fact that people have extra curricular activities. The rap and video were the most engaging projects that were presented because you could engage in the rhythm and pay more attention to the facts.

  12. NYC’s tap water has been misunderstood for far too long, and that made me realize just how quick we all fall into pretentions details about things without looking at the bigger picture. Fallacies are everywhere, and the fact that companies would do anything to make a quick dollar, such as lie to the people about such a simple thing like water is the most upsetting thing. Greed is at an all time high and instead of doing something about it, we choose to ignore the facts and look at the glittering façade companies advertise.
Personally, I have stopped drinking bottled water completely. As mentioned in class, my family constantly buys packs of water to drink because they claim our water is filled with chlorine. I tried to convince them that tap water is a lot better than buying bottled water because we are not in an economic status that allows us to waste thousands of dollars every year on buying water that is from our tap. Sadly they refused to switch to tap water because it’s also convenient to give my niece a small bottle to drink instead of a cup. I also brought up the point that it could cause cancer but as always they brushed off the dangers because of the “convenience”. Therefore, I just gave up on convincing my family and focused on myself. I do not drink bottled water, and every time someone I know is drinking bottled water I tell them the dangers. In fact, I just came home from a baby shower and my friend (who was the pregnant one) was drinking bottled water. Once I told her the issue I have with bottled water, she looked at me in disbelief and said, “people are so greedy man”.
I have such a better understanding of water that the information comes to me like second nature. Every time someone is drinking water I tell them about the dangers just to have a conversation about human greed and how ridiculous that not even water is safe. I tell them about to Ashokan Reservoir and all the things that make water healthy. Even up to this day I still cannot believe that the more bugs there are in water (that are not tolerant to pollutants), the healthier the stream of water. You’d think that slimy, ugly looking bugs would mean that it’s dirty but in fact it’s the opposite. Another thing I cannot believe is that only one person is in charge of the water bottled process, you’d think that something as delicate as water would be looked over carefully but people always have a way of surprising me.
As far as projects go, this has got to be one of the best ones. I liked the point system and the fact we did the rubric as a class because we were the real audience of this not just Mr.Fox. I would like to do something similar to this in the future and this time I will try my absolute hardest since my project was not the strongest I hoped it’d be. I think the most entertaining of projects were the one that had an element of music in it because music always makes you listen to the rhythm, also to see how people made a song about tap water/bottled water from a common song is interesting to see.
The project we made is supposed to teach us all about advertising and personally teach us a moral lesson. Will people fall into the fallacies like loaded language and act just like their competition or be honest and hope that people will learn just as effectively? It has opened up the eyes of many people about how the world works in general, how common advertisements are false and how doing something about it is the best thing to do if you want to see change, because a lot people say they want to see change in something but waits for someone to do that change for them. This project (along with civics) has taught me that getting up and doing something about the issue is personally fulfilling, you get to honestly say to yourself that you’re doing something to change society and that’s something to be proud of. Especially if you’re part of my generation, because my generation (and I don’t blame them) is one of the laziest yet.

  13. This unit of tap water versus bottled water helped me understand how safety and clean NYC drinking water is. People can drink tap water from their sink without thinking about it twice because that water that comes from the reservoir in the catskill mountain is clean and its also the same water that people drink everyday in bottles.
Doing this project has influenced the actions i take when i am going to drink water at my house or when i am going to buy a bottled water from the store. In my house we drink tap water, but we have a filter to filter the water just incase because our building is old and we don’t know how the pipe system works or if is in good conditions. I should buy a refillable water bottled and take it everywhere with me, because i don’t want to spend money on a bottled water from the store because i have that same water in my house for free.
I significantly understand where NYC tap water comes from, because if i have the audacity to drink the tap water from house with no problem, or from the park is because i know where the water comes from and how it works and because i know it won’t affect me in any type of form or way.
Something i found interesting about the bottled water industry was that these factories where the bottles are created use an impressive 29 billion bottles every year. Making all the plastic for those bottles uses 17 million barrels of crude oil annually. That is equivalent to the fuel needed to keep 1 million vehicles on the road for 12 months. Its amazing how much oil is used to create these bottles, that oil can be used to create other objects, items that do the same thing as bottled water.
I dont think this project compare to any other because i actually learn something that i can use on my everyday life, i actually paid attention and learn a lot of stuff about bottled water and the NYC water in general, all the other projects i have done are supposed to have a real life lesson, but i just cant seem to connect with it. With this one i actually do.
Doing the commercials were very interesting because you can see all the ideas all the students have and just connect it to the same topic, its amazing.
Everyday in my house we use tap water , and me knowing that is clean and health i can drink it with no problem, is amazing all that there is to the NYC water system, is not just the water that is in the reservoir, there were pipe built to make the water flow from the river and back. If these pipes or sewer were never made a lot of people could have lost their lives, because bacterias were starting to grow and many disease came alive, like yellow fever and more.

  14. This project helped me understand the safety of our drinking water in NYC because I learned that tap water is free and easy to access since most of New York City residents have access to tap water in their homes. Also this project helped me understand the safety of our drinking water in NYC because I didn’t know that some of the bottled water companies like Dasani add salt and other chemicals back into the water for taste which I was shocked with and also many of the people don’t realize that bottled water companies add chemicals in the water so that it taste the same like tap water. In the end, this project helped me understand the safety of our drinking water in New York City because the plastic that the bottled waters are made of harm our environment and pollute the ocean and the rivers in NYC and we should stop buying bottled waters so that the environment is protected.
This project has influenced my personal actions because now that I know that tap water is free, its easy to access at my house and its much more healthy than bottled water. One change I will make is refill the water bottles that I have at home with the water from the sink so that I will drink more tap water and buying less bottled waters from stores and other places that sell bottled waters because if I do this then I will go green because I’m no longer buying plastic bottles instead I will be recycling the water bottles because I’m reusing the plastic bottle water every time it needs to be refilled.

  15. One of the things I found surprising about the bottled water industry when completing the project is that the plastic bottle that the water is put in they make it out of oil which is shocking because the bottled water industry uses enough oil every year to fuel a million cars, many of the people in the United States don’t know that the bottled water industry uses oil to make their plastic bottles. Another thing I found surprising about the bottled water industry when completing the project is that the bottled water manufacturers aren’t required to submit their reports to the FDA which is why people in the United States trust the bottled water companies because they promote their products so that people can buy their bottled waters and then the companies would scare people of Tap Water, seduce people and misleading people because they want to make as much as profit by saying that tap water is not good to drink.
The projects that I think were the most engaging when presented were the raps and the videos because when it came to the raps with the lyrics or without the lyrics they had an amazing beat and also the videos were amazing because it had so many facts about both bottled water and tap water and it was funny at the same time because it would catch people’s attention about bottled water and tap water. In the end the videos and the raps with lyrics were interesting and caught my attention of the difference between bottled water and tap water.
This project that me and my group did connects to my family because now me and my mom refill and filter the bottled water by using the tap water that we have access to in our kitchen and also when the big container doesn’t have water we open the tap water and we let the water fill up all the way and then put the big container of water back in the refrigerator. In addition, this project connects to my community and where I live because most of the people who live in the same building as me have access to tap water and use it to drink water or refill their containers with water from the sink, but outside of my building all I see is people buying bottled waters because I think that they don’t have access to tap water or they don’t drink from their tap water because they think it might have chemicals or even bacteria that can make them sick if they drink the water from there sink. Finally, the project connects to the world because most of the people around the world don’t have access to clean tap water but this is only to people who do have access to tap water and they should always check their tap water from the sink because they never know if their tap water could have bacteria or lethal diseases from the pipes that brings the tap water to their sink at their homes and if they check then those people can be saving a lot of money by drinking their tap water instead of buying bottled water. In the end, this project helped me to understand that tap is much safer to drink and it is much healthier for your body and now I have a different and better understanding and perspective of NYC’s tap water.

  16. The way that that this project help me and think differently about tap water is by the way that before I knew this information about tap water vs. bottled of water I thought at first bottled of water was a cleaner water to drink and that tap water was only good for showering and to clean stuff until I found out about tap water and bottled of water and bottled of water just affect the environment on the way that bottled of water uses a lot of oil in factories and factories caused pollution on the dirty smoke coming out from factories. Also, bottled of water when they are put in the garbage most of the bottles are not recycled and has to be burn or put in a place being placed there for years because people don’t know what to do with it. After I got the information about bottled of water and tap water I was surprised how bottled of water it is mostly tap water and we are paying basically for the bottle and not the water basically and people think that bottles of water is better because is coming from factories and companies which they are wrong and need to do some research on tap water and bottles of water. This project was a very helpful thing to me and to everyone else in general in the class because one thing is that we learn about tap water and bottled of water and also the type of things companies do to get our money fast from us and tricking us, 1/3 of the bottled of water comes from ground water. Tap water is also better than bottled of water by certain ways that tap water is free because most of earth is cover up by water and tap water is tested thousands of time to make sure it doesn’t have certain things that could affect us and also its already filter and we don’t need to filter it and it comes to NYC by gravity from other places. Things that people could do to make bottled of water to stop affecting the environment is by stop buying bottled of water and buy a reusable filtering bottle and they could be drinking te same water and filtering at the same time. A lot of people do not know about this information and keep being trick by companies and thinking that they doing the right choice by buying bottle of water but the day they find out one person could make a change in the environment and spread the word until everybody knows was happening and help the environment. Is never too late to make a change, change could happen anytime and you could be the first one to start.

  17. This project influenced me greatly in the way that I consume my water and how much of it was wasted. For my personal action I am thinking of decreasing the amount of bottled water that I consume because as I learned such material can cause cancer etc. because such is made by petroleum which is a very industrial item. I will try to buy my own recyclable / reusable water bottle which can be portable and it can protect my health. From experience I think that NYC’s water supply is healthy due to its limit less examination. Even if you don’t want to consume water from the tap it’s a better way to protect your health other than buying water bottles that are thought to be cleaner and more safely yet it isn’t that way, it’s actually more dangerous not only for us but as well for the environment.
What surprised me the most about this project is learning the ways that this water companies actually try to sell us there bottled water but as well that there were companies such as Coca-Cola and Pepsi that actually bottle tap water instead of what they sell their consumers. A last thing that surprised me was that there is only 1 person in the FDA that monitors the water and tests them. In conclusion this project opened my eyes to the reality that bottled water can affect negatively your health and that these companies try anything to sell us the idea of bottled water and alginate us from tap water which is healthier and cost less than bottled water.

  18. Everything that we learned in this project helped me understand the safety of NYC’s tap water. I learned about how much energy is used to make water bottles, where they end up when they aren't recycled. I also learned that NYC’s tap water comes from the Catskill mountains and the Delaware River and into the Ashokan Reservoir. The things that i learned this unit allowed to not really change my actions but convince people to change theirs. I never really drank bottled water or tap water, but not i much rather drink NYC’s tap than bottled. Over all, my understanding of where NYC’s tap water comes from is much larger, I think that at this point I I’m able to teach a lesson about NYC’s tap water and it would be such a good lesson that everyone passes a test after. I feel like my understanding has grown so much because of everything we learned repeatedly and the different ways that we learned these lessons allowed for me to remember the key ideas. When it comes to water bottled companies what surprised me the most was the amount of oil and energy used to make plastic bottles, and where all the plastic pieces end up when people don't recycle their water bottles. Compared to other projects that I have done i really loved this one specifically because we got to get out of our comfort zones and were able to created more than one for of sources that are basically used for the same reason; to educate people about how NYC's tap water is better than bottled water. I dont think anything should be changed about this project, and I would like to do something like this in the future. When it comes to the projects themselves they were all engaging to do and people were able to choose the ones that they were most comfortable with so everyone was able to find something when they were in groups. Also, when presenting its a good experience people get to open up and try working on their speech. So I think this project was a success. I sometimes try to get my family to drink more NYC's tap water or use it more, and they so, I think that the U.S would benefit more from using tap.

  19. This project helped me understand the safety of drinking tap water in various ways. One pertaining to be that the chemicals used to make water bottles have been shown to have affect the endocrine system. The chemicals contained in water bottles can cause infertility, diabetes and obesity. This is harmful in a lot of ways because one it’s causing factors that negatively impacts us in our everyday lives. Another way this project has helped me understand the safety of drinking tap water is the filtration tap water undergoes every day. In a day tap water goes under many counts of inspections compared to water bottles which necessarily dont. This is important because if bottled water isn’t being checked then how do we know exactly what we are intaking? This project has influenced by person actions, now I’d prefer to drink water that is tested on a daily basis to see if it meets the requirements for healthy drinking water. One change Ive done is that i’ve cut back on water bottles. This being that I recently purchased a wheels water reusable water bottle and refill it constantly with fountain or tap water saving me money from my pockets.
Over the course of this project i have come to a better understanding of where NYC’s drinking comes from. For example now i understand that a lot of our water comes catskills and Delaware River as oppose to before i was confused on why it came from there. I have found several things interesting about the bottled water industry when completing this project. One happened to be that a large portion of water is being summed up to account for a total of one bottle water when you can have tap water at a free cost. Also, companies promote their water bottle brands to come from natural areas. When in reality bottled water brands such as Fiji water say their source comes from Fiji and has been proven to be a false statement over studies done on their product.
This project compared to past projects can relate best with my everyday life. i feel that this project helped me learn about something that refers to me, since I drink a lot of water in water bottles. Other projects I’ve done can’t really connect with me like this done does, I can now make smarter choices on the types of water that I drink. I liked many things about this project. One being the options given to us to complete this project. I felt that the options provided to us were fair. What could make it better is the amount of points given on some of our options such as a glogster i felt that it should’ve been worth two points. I would be interested in doing another similar project in the future.
This project can connect to my family, community and the world. This being that water is a main source that is about 75 percent of our body and this is what we need to nourish our bodies on a daily basis. Humans and animals both need water to be able to survive, and that is how water connects with my family, community, and the world.

  20. This project has helped me understand how we have to understand the advantage that we have that this nyc tap water system is a beautiful way we can have easy access to real fresh and water. But we have water bottles companies pretending to be something that in reality they are not. I use to drink a lot of bottled water because I used to believed that it was different than tap water but in reality it’s not because about 40% of bottled water is just tap water. This is unfair because water is a natural thing and I think everything that is a natural thing should be free but the fact that this bottled water industry is making billions of dollar a year is crazy. But really it’s not about the money it really is how these water companies are affecting our environment. You don’t believe me well how you think they make the plastic bottles obviously by factories and they are affecting the planet because this causes global warming. When global warming is attacking our planet this makes go extinct and we are affecting things like polar bears. What i really enjoyed about this was that we got to express our ways how people can understand that NYC tap water is that best system in this planet. One thing i will really like to do is is shared what i learned with others that don’t know this information so they spread the word. Also i really enjoyed that we were able to rap about NYC tap water system which was interesting how we can combine all what we learned to something amazing.

    Reflection on Tap Water Project

This project helped me understand the safety of our drinking water because through the academical work that we have performed during this project I found out that “ New York City’s drinking water is recognized throughout the world for it’s quality and purity”(Bloomberg). The project has really influenced my personal life because now I am more open minded towards drinking tap water due to that I am aware of how fine and enjoyable New York City’s tap water is. This will lead to changes in my behavior because I will commence to drink more tap water in an effort to save money and help out the world. I most definitely have a better understanding of where New York City’s tap water comes from; It comes from a reservoir and transported through aqueducts and tunnels. Things I found the most interesting about the bottled water industry is that two of the biggest bottled water industry Coke and Pepsi, draw their water from municipal sources. This troubles me because these industries are able to make a profit out of something that the average American already obtains for free by using advertising techniques. Also it deeply bothers me that a lot of the plastics are ending up in fishes and humans are consuming it indirectly through the consumption of fish. This project was very unique and not similar to any science project i have done. I liked just that that it was very original and unique and I would most definitely be interested in doing something similar in the future. What i found interesting was the variety of projects I feel as if focusing on one type of project will lessen the level of originality of the overall presentation. This project connects to my community because my community struggle with poverty yet the people continue to squander their money on bottled water , when tap water is great and free. This troubles me because the people continue to waste their money due to that they are unaware of the positive quality of tap water. This relates to the world because water is a limited resource and there are many nations that don't have enough water to meet the needs of all their people , yet Americans continue to harmonize with malicious water industry and squander tap water. We must attempt to raise awareness so that people could better appreciate water and so that people could know how good tap water is.

  23. During this project I had a difficult time finding a task for me to focus on, so I ended up doing a position paper. While I was writing the paper I noticed that everything that we was learning was realistic and that it was an important topic that is defining us as Americans. Once the project was due I was really excited to see what everybody had, during the presentation I felt like everybody did such a good job because they were taking a real life important topic and turning it into something that made us as humans understand why tap water is so important. In the beginning of this Unit I didn't have a real good understanding of why water was so important to the whole world. I was thinking of my selfish ways, and while doing this project and seeing the presentations it really influenced me to see that if we don't start making a change then who is? This project made me see that water is a natural resource that us humans need and we need to find ways to keep our water sustainable for our future generations. This project definitely made me change my ways of being, I limit myself with how I use my water that comes to my home. I have a better understanding of where NYC's drinking water comes from because now I know that nature is the resource that is supplying us with richful and healthy water. I think that water bottled companies just use us Americans and they don't care about the outcome of people drinking bottled water and how bad it does to the environment. What I found really interesting is that during the years of my family buying bottled water I found the reason why they found it so good because of bottled water companies misleading us and telling us that tap water isn't healthy for us and that it's filtered . This project compared to the other projects I have done before is so good because we had the will to pick the tasks to complete under what we felt was going to convince people to choose tap water. I think that I would love to have something like this project in the future because it's giving us the freedom and creativity to use persuasion in our own way and help us shape our point of views towards one direction. The rap(s) and video(s) were the most interesting projects because in general we as humans our activities are based on watching tv and listening to music so to hear and see things the same way but different style shows that things can be seen different ways and can help us see things easier. For me, this project showed me that we need to start thinking of others and change our ways of being. Us Americans need to understand that water is an important natural resource that we need survive on this Earth and that we as a nation are very lucky that we have easy access to water because there are more people out in the world that aren't able to get the same resources as us. Yes at the same time we need to take advantage of what we have but we need to start taking advantage of water in a sustainable way. This project took a piece of my mind it taught me that the World we live in has provided us with so many resources that we need to limit ourselves and learn that we can't be selfish in life because at the end of the day there is always a price we pay for our bad choices.

  24. This project had changed my view of tap water completely. New York City tap water is actually one of the cleanest water in the United States contrary to what many people believe including me. New York City tap water is so clean that it doesn’t even need to be filter. Tap water is regulated up to 300 times a day and it must reported to the FDA and meet the requirements set that then would be shown to the public. I believed that tap water was actually dirty and not safe to drink because is coming from a tap and for some reason bottled water existed and that was because tap water wasn’t safe to drink. But after learning how clean New York City tap water is and how it may actually be cleaner than bottled water my perspective on tap water change and on bottled water because the result was that tap water is safer and cleaner than bottled water.
While doing this project a lot of interesting facts about bottled water companies. When drinking water bottled I though that it was cleaner and better tasting than tap water but 45% of bottled water is filter tap water which is the same we would get for free in our tap. The bottled regulations aren’t as strict as tap water because all of the test taken for tap water must be reported to the FDA and meet the requirements bottled water only has one person in the FDA and they are not even responsible to check if the water is safe to drink unless is sold to another state. Other than bottled water not being as safe as tap water they are very inconsiderate of the environment and the people. For example a drought in Colorado the bottled water company kept taking water and never stopped even though the people were suffering from it. Also they started using PTE plastic, which takes thousands of years to disintegrate and most bottles end up in the ocean polluting the environment not recycle.

  25. This project helped me understand the safety of the drinking water because I was able to gather sources in order to determine how clean the water in New York city actually is and how the fact that some people say things that really aren't true and say it because they have heard other people say it really caught me off guard since I used to believe those rumors as well, yet this project allowed me to clarify all the skeptical thoughts that I had previously about tap water.
After learning about how safe tap water really is and how much the bottles that we use to distribute the bottled water harms our environment so much, I am first, open to drink tap water since now I know the truth about it and now I don't buy bottled water, instead a carry my thermos around and fill it up, therefore I conserve the environment and use my available resources at the same time.
I believe that I really do have a better understanding , not only because of the research we all had to do in order to complete our assignment , but also since we got the chance to go visit the Ashokan Reservoir and take test of the water . This really improved my understanding because it is a more satisfying feeling when you go out and find information for yourself rather than just listen to what websites say or people tell you.
One thing that I found extremely surprising about the bottle water industries is how they were extremely ignorant and were oblivious to how the areas in which they were pumping water from were in a drought, yet they honestly had the face to still go and pump water. Another thing that surprised me about bottled water is how most of the water bottled that are used aren’t recycled or disposed of properly which leads to all the waste being dumped into our water and harming the animals which confuse the parts of the bottle with food, yet even after knowing this no real action is being taken to improve this sittuation
I don't think that this was compared to any other project that I have done in the school, yet I really enjoyed it. I liked it because it gave us a chance to go out and not only find a way that we felt would aware more people about tap water, but we were able to go out and find information that we didn't already know. I would definitely be interested in doing something like this in the future because it is a hands on activity which really allowed us as students to not only talk about getting the word out about something, but actually go out. It was honestly very empowering to see how much we could all do and hopefully, how many people we have the ability to reach.

  26. This presentation helped me understand the safety of NYC’s tap water because at first I use to think that bottled water was safer and better than tap water and now that I know the truth about bottled water. I’m more convinced about using tap water than bottled water because most of the water in the bottled is just tap water, the company doesn’t check the water for any diseases, the tap water that we drink is free. At first I believed that bottled water safer than tap water because my parents always kept yelling to not drink from the tap because is dirty. Now that I know that tap water is safer than bottled water I’m more determain to drink from the tap. I found suprising that bottle water companies use a lot of oil to make bottles, the chemicals that the companies use and release into the air it cause some people to get sick.

  27. This project makes me understand that bottle water is basically tap water, but it’s inside of a plastic bottle, by understanding this topic, i’m going to have to start to obtain a metal water bottle. Yes, the project has influenced my actions, i’m gonna have to make some new changes of my lifestyle by getting a metal water bottle & informing others about how the FDA doesn’t really check the water as frequently, making changes in inevitable, if something is wrong with the environment around you, you as a person should change how you live because whatever little thing you do is gonna affect the environment. What i found interesting was that how Poland Spring water bottle company actually comes from a real spring that is cleansed from mother nature, i was surprised because i thought that it was propaganda about the poland spring. Mostly, this project compared to other projects because of the presentations that we students that we had to do in front of class, the exciting part of the project was how we had the option of creating skits, that option was helpful because it enabled us to have creativity to eventually to get more points in our projects. I would most definitely like to do this project again. The raps would be most engaging because now in this time, rap is what people like as a music genre & it also has the technique to stuff facts in the rap, such as Oibil & Franci’s rap, it contained rap beats & facts from the bottled water & how the FDA doesn’t check it as much. - Luis Rodriguez

  29. This project helped me understand that NYCs drinking water is among some of the best quality water in the world. Not only did I learn that this tap water is top notch quality but it is also fresh tasting and safe to drink. It makes me fortunate to know that we have access to billions of gallons of water that is clean and fresh tasting.

The completion of this project changed my whole outlook on drinking bottled water. I no longer purchase bottled water, I’ use a refillable bottle. This will help me on my journey to becoming a more sustainable human. I even went so far as to telling my younger brother and my mother about the harmful effects of bottled water. She loves Evian because she thinks “it’s cleaner”, but little did she know that bottled water is not as monitored and tested and clean as NYCs tap water. She seemed enlightened after I told her. She no longer buys that water. So, I believe that if people understood the difference in the water, they could change as well.

Because of this project I believe I have a better understanding of where NYCs drinking water comes from. This water is not only naturally purified but it’s free to transport, thanks to gravity. So, this leads me to believe that it’s not very smart to buy water in a bottle, when you can simply turn on your faucet and have free, clean, safe, fresh-tasting water. Arguably some of the best water on Earth. That is why I was surprised when I discovered that bottled water was 40% tap water or just water from a municipal source. This was shocking because it doesn’t taste the same. This is because the bottle water companies take your free tap water and filter it and then sell it back to make millions of dollars. And we buy it because they seduce us by saying that their water is fresh and natural, when it actuality it’s the same as tap water.

I think this project was a bit more fun than most of the other projects that I’ve done in school. We really got to think outside the box and be creative. most projects in school stifle creativity because none is needed. That is why this project was probably one of my favorites. I would love to do something like this again and I would be glad if we did. One major issue was the amount of time, I feel like my group could’ve used at least one more day to finalize things.
I feel like the music videos and the raps were the most engaging because it stuck in peoples heads and became catchy. I think that some of the acting videos were awesome to. it’s just exciting to see these videos and it really creates a fun yet persuasive mood.

  30. I believe the project is a great way to condense our knowledge of water bottles and tap water. While there wasn’t much reason to search for other facts about the bottled water company, I’m sure it helped make the facts ‘stick’ for some by making us do something creative that we must edit or work through constantly. Though the timing of the project, after a midterm where one of the written response questions was based on the quality of New York city’s drinking water and a month of learning and discussing bottled water companies there was not much to learn. The midterms date was in the middle of the project so the purpose of the project was overshadowed.
The project is certainly different from the other memorable projects I’ve done. While making websites is not new, making a video for a project or writing an original composition are novel ideas. Since I’ve never tried to edit a video or create a track of some sort, this was a novel and welcome experience. Having more references for free video editors and the like would have been helpful but with the existence of Google and Yahoo! Answers it was not difficult at all to find the proper programs. The most difficulty I experienced in this was the presentation to the class due to some technical difficulties but the students were very accommodating. Instead of snickering or belittling they urged me on to keep speaking. This is the most pressing reason why I will not be doing something similar in the future. Presenting a paper or a speech assignment is quite difficult for my person and doing so reduces the points of my teammates.
The only presentations I saw were those we saw again and those were the ones that are most engaging. There wasn’t really a outstanding media that was most engaging except that they were all taped and not written assignments. Comedic projects seem to be the most engaging and the ones with the most impact. Mishaps such as not following the tempo or the lyrics set by the singer were overshadowed by the comedic value of such pieces making comedy the most engaging genre throughout.

  31. During the process of this projects I learn more about the facts why NYC tap water is healthy and clean and the process how it comes direct to are faucets.NYC tap water is the tastiest among the world and one of the cleanest ,as it's checked over 300,000 times monthly and pass all State and Federal requirements. This facts catch my attention because in comparison to bottle water ,tap water has higher requirements to pass for people to drink while bottle water is only checked federally if its imported from other states or countries. So this means that if water is only sold within the state it doesn't even get checked. This project has impact me to stop buying bottle waters and start drinking tap water more frequently.Drinking tap water saves me money and also benefits the environment since I'm not buying bottle water that would take a long time to be down cycle or end up in a river or a foreign country.
This project is different from any other project I have done in school as it contain multiple ways in expressing are propose. Also this would be the first project where I have had to advertise something. What I found most interesting in doing my project was the video where I tried to sell bottle water and defend why it better then tap but tap had more information and fact that were used against my water bottle.Learning this information about how NYC tap water is better then bottle water has change the way I think before I drink water making a smart decision to drink tap instead of buying water bottles, also how I influence my closest friends and family to not buy bottle water and try to only drink tap or filtered water from home or public fountains.

  32. This project has helped me understand the safety of our drinking water in NYC through all the facts I learned on how clean and safe our water actually is. Before my project I simply knew that New York’s water was one of the safest waters to drink in the world. Now after being informed that the EPA (a government agency concerned with the American environment and its impact on human health) where NYC’s water is tested holds strict standards on the water sources and products and are required to submit their reports, I trust the water more. I also have a lot of trust in our water because of the fact that bottled water manufacturers do their own tests on sources and products and aren’t required to submit these reports to the FDA (Food and Drug Administration which is responsible for protecting the public health by assuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, and our nation’s food supply). Just from these facts I now drink tap water more often and refill empty bodies with tap water and usually keep an empty body on me to refill daily so I can have my 64 ounces a day. I only buy a water body to drink when I have to. For example, I purchase a water body usually after basketball practice when I need to get hydrated because I am not near a fountain or sink indoors. Bottled water doesn’t go through the same safety tests that our water do for example our municipal water tests for e-coli and bottled water manufacturers don’t, tap water is supposed to or required to provide a source where the water comes from while bottled waters simple requirements don’t, and as we know our water is required to produce quality reports while bottled water manufacturers don’t. The only thing that bottled water has over our water which will keep people going for it is the fact that it can still be distributed when tap water standards are not met but bottled water standards as safe as tap waters anyway so why risk your safety. An example of what I mean is the surprising fact about bottled water compared to tap water here: when bottled water is regulated by the FDA it is found to be contaminated with Fecal Coliform bacteria which is a contaminant that is completely restricted by the EPA but allowed in some capacity by the FDA. I now have a better understanding of where our drinking water comes from than I had before. I understand now that our drinking water comes from 19 reservoirs and three controlled lakes in a 1,972 square-mile watershed that extends 125 miles north and west of New York City. Our water goes through water supply and wastewater treatment systems and through an elaborate network of sewers and water mains which shows me how natural and pure our water actually is.This gives me a new perspective on drinking our tap water rather than water bottles that use tricky ads and false advertisement to make us believe were drinking pure clean safe water. This was the most enjoyable project I’ve done in my science history compared to my last science projects where I would be demanded to create a dull poster with supporting facts and ideas on a certain topic rather than having a choice to persuade others on my topic through anything of my choice for example: glogsters, comic strips, commercials or even songs. Next time make it a one choice project that amounts to 5 points avoiding doing multiple projects so we can focus more attention on one and make it more creative by putting more thought and time into it. Other than that, I enjoyed working with my peers and learning about our clean water. It gave me more faith in drinking water which I would sometimes avoid drinking because of thoughts I would have of drinking contaminated water.

    1. I love music so the raps that were performed with lyrics on the screen for us to follow along were the most engaging performances I observed because of how I automatically caught on to hooks and how I knew the beats to each song. In certain parts of each song I heard and saw performed, I learned facts I didn’t know even after doing my own project because of the fact that those facts were put in the hooks of the songs and being flowed in the song in an intriguing way, while connecting to the beats. Its simple the naturally purified water we have that is transported freely through gravity is safe so why not choose to drink the water from your faucet which is safe, clean, free, fresh tasting water over the bottled water which we pay for, which is skeptical to consume because of chemicals plastic that can for example cause cancer. Lastly, after telling my older brother about the effects of drinking bottled that can possibly occur when he saw me in the process of completing my glogster presentation he now feels it is safer to just drink our tap because we save money for example like I told him “You spend 49 cents per year for tap water when you drink eight glasses a day BUT when we buy the same amount of bottled water, it cost about $1400 per year, or 2,900 times more” and because it actually gets tested for disinfectants unlike bottled water does. Unfortunately he can’t change his ways because he simply never drinks water but I’m pretty sure eventually when he does he will choose our tap water more often.

  33. This project made me look deeper into the facts that we learned about tap water and bottled water compared. I noticed how using bottled water doesn’t make sense at all when we can get water bottles and drink the same water thats in water bottle, for free. Lately ive been thinking about whether i should spend money on bottle water or not, I try to only buy bottles of water when i have no water around me that i can easily access. Other than that, I've been trying to walk around with a water bottle and refill it from water fountains when i need to. There’s no use in wasting my dollar bills for a bottle that can harm me in the future. Honestly, before studying about NYC’s drinking water, I thought we got water from springs or certain freshwater sources and then filter the water and just let it travels through tunnels to the city. Now i got a much more intelligent understanding of where our water comes from. Now i know about the Catskills and Croton reservoirs and I know that water does not even need to be filtered. I know about aqueducts and about everything that is involved in getting drinkable water from reservoirs to tap. I cannot believe that bottled water companies claim they get their water from a certain places when really they get it from the same places that all drinkable tap water are available. This project’s creativity yet use of facts led me to really understand exactly how Nyc drinking water works and it also helped me express how i feel about it in a very easy way. It would be a good idea to do a similar project in the future. I definitely think the raps and the videos were the most engaging, they gave facts in a very interesting way. Now that I know about bottle water i can stop my family from buying boxes of water bottles and instead use water bottles when they need it. My family and community consumes way too much bottles and the world would change a lot if people get used to limiting their consuming of bottles.

  34. Throughout this unit I really understood the quality and importance of NYC tap water. The reason for this is because I learned a lot of information about how to keep nyc tap water safe and how it is healthy and saves you a lot of money. This project really influenced me to definitively drink more Tap water then bottle water because i didn’t know the underlying information such as 45 % of bottle water is actually tap water . I decided to make changes because when i'm buying these bottles of water and not recycling them it is effecting the environment and the animals that live in it . I have a way better understanding of where NYC’s drinking water comes from. 50 % of NYC’s is from the Delaware Reservoir, 40% the Catskill reservoir and 10% the Croton provides the remaining 10%. I have this knowledge about it because of the trip we took up to the Ashokan reservoir when we learned a lot of our information. I found surprising about the bottle water industry is that how they pretty much U.S citizens into buying there products. They use different appeals to attract people. This project compared to others to me was better because I have never done a gropu project that involves all of us in media pictures and being creative about different ideas. Usually I would just make a group poster and thats it. For this project you had to use a lot of group corparation. It would be better if we had more equipment and maybe a little more time and maybe more resources to make whatever your doing better. I think the videos and raps were very engaging more than anything else because it really shows the creativity and effort you put in to the work because it is very difficult task to do. This project I will try to show my family and friends to not by bottle water as much because now i know information to back it up and I would change my life to be more on the susutainable side.

  35. This project help me understand the safety of our drinking water in nyc because it made me understand the quality and all the false that companies make towards tap water. It also open my eyes to see the things people would say for others to buy their products. This project has influenced my person action by making me rarely buy bottle water and recommend my mom to use tap water more often because it's already filtered. I would keep making changes towards my water and how much i use it because we only have 1% fresh water.Yes i do have a better understand where nyc drinking water comes from because i saw how we kept it in Catskill and how gravity brings it down to us while the soil filters the water. Somethings i found insteading about the water bottle industry is how the FDA does a regular check up about a thousand time on our tap water but bottled water isn't required to do them. This projects was very different because i had a lot of choice to pick from and bring my own ideas into the project. Something that could've been better is having more 5 points choices instead of just one. I would also love to do a similar project like this again it was a lot of fun. The raps were more engaging because they were catchy and very much fun to listen to. This project showed me how different bottle water is to tap water and me and my family would stop using bottle things and use metal reusable water bottle to fill things up.

This unit has changed many things in my life something like this water something i have always been suspicious of is true i feel like i can't trust much any more if you think about it from my perspective water is something that is constant every day and my mom has been paying 4$ every 3 days or so to buy a new gallon and i have always thought why must we pay for something we need to survive here i am a 16 year old and i finally find out that we don't need to we just do and now i'm just confused and surprised that we fall into such a scam every time we buy this bottle because thats what we pay for not the water thats just crazy and we have continued to do i and the worse part is that they alienate us in so many ways they don't give us reports on the product so for all we know that could be rat pee filtered and the bottle hurts the earth its like they have all kinds of horrible things all concentrated into one thing its very troubling.

  37. This week we were responsible for presenting tap water campaign projects that we created ourselves. My group decided to create a skit that led into a music video. This year I’ve been faced with many assignments that required analytical creativity, but in this assignment I was pushed to use visual creativity, something I know I’m good at. I believe projects that are more visual or creative have more of an impact on students because it’s more engaging. Personally, I feel that not only did this project help me understand why New York City tap water is good, but it helped me exercise my filmmaking skills which is important for me because it’s what I want to study in college. I feel like the assignment was good because it made other students push themselves into showing what they know by doing something other than write a paper (unless they chose to). I look forward to more projects like this so that I can continue to practice filmmaking and also have a new way of learning something in the classroom.
The most engaging projects were the raps and the songs especially the ones with videos because you could tell that they had fun trying to educate the audience about NYC’s tap water as an alternative to any regular assignment. It also gave the groups a chance to show some talents that some people didn’t know they had, which I thought was pretty cool. The prezi presentations were good also because not only did they look professional, it made it very easy to know how much effort was put into it and it was clear to see what they knew about the topic.

  38. This project allowed me to be proactive about finding more sources relating to New York City tap waters quality. I found a “.gov” link that had every Water Quality Report all the way from 1997 to 2011 proving the excellence in the quality and safety of New York City tap water compared to any other state in the country. In my life, I’ve definitely have been impacted by the knowledge I’ve received in class because of the ways I’ve looked and felt about the loss of buying bottled water. To me, the thought of bottled water being cleaner in view of the fact that countless advertisements were thrown at my face for all of these years have now been put to shame by the facts! The fact that bottled water is usually TAP water itself rips off the value in my mind, leading me into drinking tap water with no problem. It’s all in your knowledge. If it is proven to you, then you feel differently about what consume; what happened to during this project. I definitely have a better understanding of where water comes from. The NYC water supply has the largest water supply of unfiltered water in the entire country. The idea of having the largest water supply in the country is to take advantage of it! People are not aware enough about how unnecessary bottled water is for us New Yorkers. This was my issue too a month ago, but as soon as I began learning more about the treatment of our drinking water and the comparisons between tap water and bottled water, I understand the benefits of tap water and the total loss of bottled water. This project compares to … none of the projects I have ever done in school. This was a really fun project for me, and it honestly helped me enjoy what I’m learning about in class. If teachers were to teach like you do, and give students more in touch with themselves and with their work, there can only be brilliance. I really enjoyed the “Tap Water, Tap Water” rap that Fraci and Obil made. It had a lot of interesting facts that was relevant to what we’ve learned in class, and on their own. I really enjoy writing raps. I do it all of the time for my-self amusement. This project was pretty awesome in that way; my zone was open and I crept right in! I understand how to keep flow with a beat within my lyrics; the challenge was actually getting information that correlates with the songs lyrics. This was a fun project, best one too. Hands down.
